Day 1 of Two-day General Auction
A Roman-Thracian silver ring with a carved carnelian seal depicting a soldier with a spear. The ring was professionally cleaned couple of years ago and it is in very good condition for its age. Thrace was famous since 5th Century B.C. for its gold and silver smiths. It turned into a Roman province on 46 A.D. and by middle 5th Century fell into the hands of Germanic tribal rulers.
