An antique Japanese Satsuma Pottery Koro (Incense Burner). Finely decorated in traditional Satsuma palette with deep cobalt blue ground, gilt scrolling motifs and figural reserve panels depicting courtly scenes. The hexagonal body raised on three short feet with twin side handles and a pierced domed cover surmounted by a gilt shishi finial. Richly enamelled throughout with crackle glaze typical of Satsuma ware. Likely mid to late 20th century. Some age-related wear, minor rubbing to gilding and firing imperfections consistent with use and age - please see photos for condition. Please see photos or request a condition report.
