A wonderful example of the prestigious Waterloo Medal 1815, to a line infantry regiment; named to: John Mann, 51st Reg Light Infantry. The 51st Regiment served on the extreme right of the British line, as part of the 4th Brigade, at the Battle of Waterloo on 18 June 1815, and provided support for the critical defence of Hougoumont Farm. The Waterloo Medal roll indicates that John Mann served in Captain Phelps’s company. The medal retains the original steel clip with a replacement split-ring suspender, and is otherwise in Good Very Fine (GVF) condition. With historical notes on the 51st Regiment and the Battle of Waterloo. Tier one collectible piece.
