Inside Our Jewellery Box- Auction 20/09/21

As a fellow lover of everything that sparkles, I am so privileged to get to work with the different pieces of Jewellery that come in for sale and now I’m I share all this with you each auction. From perfectly cut precious stone pendants to the most amazing diamond sets, each week is like a lucky dip, I never know what will be coming in through our doors.

This week I saw over 450 individual lots of various items for sale in the auction, I have a few favourites, like always we start with the diamonds.

The stand out sparkler this week for me was lot 824, an amazing platinum diamond necklace with over 10cts of quality Diamonds, the hammer went down at £5000. If only this necklace could tell us her journey, who has worn her to fabulous evenings out, the conversations she has heard, we will never know but I’m sure her new owner will wear this necklace with such pride. She is one very lucky lady.

For lot 933 the photos didn’t do it justice, an 18ct white gold bangle with diamonds and yellow sapphires. Against the skin it looked a million dollars, with a hammer price of £700 it honestly looked like it should have been sold at least twice that amount. The buyer of this item had purchased identical diamond and yellow sapphire earrings in a previous auction and wanted to have the bangle to match to wear for a special occasion. I’m hoping a stylish but simple ring with the same stones will be available soon just so she can finish off the set and feel fabulous wearing them.

Something without diamonds that caught my eye this auction was a pair of 21k yellow Oriental gold earrings with natural carved Jade. The colour of these were so deep they mesmerised you. These went for a steal at £700. Paired with a little black dress these will most certainly have got you noticed walking into the room.

If you’re looking for Christmas ideas, we have so many choices of jewellery pieces under £100. For instance, we had lot 96, a 9ct gold 3 stone trilogy ring with opal stones. It was in a delicate vintage setting and the opals went from sky blue to baby pink, the hammer went down on this item at £60. All you’d need is a box and the most picky of relations would have thought they were part of you special inner circle.

I’m excited to see what our next auction will bring, I’ve had a quick peek into the safe and I’ve seen an art deco inspired pendant, covered in diamonds with an opal stone. Fingers crossed I’ll get to wear it for catalogue photos, this one is a real corker!!!
